From an early age I had a love of design and crafting. My hands and brain were always doing. Because of my love of design, I got a degree in Interior Design from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I started a great career in the interior design world after I graduated, but found myself doing things graphically on the side, for myself and others. It didn't take long to realize how much more I enjoyed this aspect of design. So I've decided to put my whole heart into graphic design, even though I'll always have a love of interiors and architecture.
Why "Just Jenni Marie?"
There are a couple of reasons behind that. My mom always called me Jenni Marie. Partly to distinguish me from another Ginny she worked with, but I think mostly because we had that identity in common. I still can hear her voice calling my name, and I love that she is a part of what I do still. I'm in my 30s now (eeek!!) and it has taken me this long to realize that I am just me, and it's ok to be just me and to do just me. There's no one else I need to measure up to except myself. So, I am just Jenni Marie, and I'm very ok with that.
My designs tend to be a bit quirky and maybe a little out of the box, which is a reflection of me, but I always strive to give the client what they want.
My portfolio includes invitations (birthdays, weddings, showers), holiday cards, party decor, and logo designs, and I hope to soon be able to add web design to it. I like to stretch myself not just graphically with each project, but also creatively, using different techniques in my designs. I've played with watercolors, layering of materials, and using 3-dimensional materials - just to name a few - in my projects, which help to make each design one-of-a-kind.
While I don't claim to be the best designer out there, I can promise that I put my heart into each design, and I will work with each client to give them the best experience possible, as well as a final product they are excited about and fits perfectly for their needs. My greatest pleasure with any design is seeing a happy customer at the end of the process.
